Checked Out is a mini zine about the everyday weirdness of working in a public library. Through simple illustrations and dry humor, it explores overflowing book drops, impossible patron questions, emotional support coworkers, mystery break room coffee, and the feeling of trying your best while surrounded by books.

At the center of the zine is a small Grim Reaper character who serves as both librarian and reluctant guide through the chaos. The pieces are inspired by real library experiences and the shared absurdities that library workers often recognize immediately.

Part appreciation letter, part workplace diary, and part coping mechanism, Checked Out captures the exhaustion, humor, and community found in public library work.
